Cornerstone exists because of Jesus. We are a people who have been transformed by the gospel, the good news of Jesus Christ. Through Jesus’ death and resurrection, God has forgiven us and adopted us into his family. Now, we have a whole new life.
Through the gospel, God redeems us, forgives us, and adopts us into his family. The good news of Jesus’ death and resurrection makes each one of us a new creation and gives us a new identity: children of God. This is why we can never think of the church as an organization or a building. The church is actually a family—God’s family, filled with redeemed sinners that are now his children.
Through the gospel, God forgives us, adopts us into his family, and makes us his disciples. This means that the church is not just any family. We are a family formed by God—and sent out with a purpose.
The church is a family that ministers to one another, cares for one another, and builds one another up. Each member of the family is a child of God who is uniquely gifted to bless the family and to be a light in our city.
Just like a vine grows best with a good trellis, our church family grows best with good programs. Our programs and ministries are tailored to support the community and mission God has given us.
What Can I Expect?
Like every Sunday, on Easter you will find us gathered to worship God in prayer, song, and learning from the Bible. Our services are an encouraging place for Christians to worship and a safe place for visitors to explore. No matter where you’re coming from, we hope you’ll join us.
Easter Services 4/1/18 at 8am, 10am & 12noon
1609 S. Barrington Ave. Los Angeles, CA 90025
While the church address is on Barrington Ave, our parking lot and main entrances are located on Idaho Ave. There is also plenty of street parking available Sunday mornings. If you're a member or regular attender and are able to walk a few blocks, we encourage you to find street parking to make room for visitors.
Is There a Dress Code?
Whether you feel God is honored more by jeans and sandals or by a suit and tie, everyone is welcome at Cornerstone.
Courtyard and Coffee Shop
Our parking lot is right next to our courtyard, where you’ll find the main entrances to our sanctuary, our community building, and our coffee shop. Feel free to come early or stay late, we have plenty of food and drink in the coffee shop and plenty of good conversation in the courtyard. Feel free to bring your coffee into the sanctuary for the service. On Easter Sunday we'll have refreshments in the courtyard in between services.
From the courtyard, you can take your children to the nursery rooms in the Community Building or head up the steps to our Sanctuary for the main service. Need some help? Look for members of our welcome team (they’ll be wearing orange lanyards). They can take you where you need to go and answer any questions with a smile.
We have three identical Easter services at 8am, 10am, and 12noon. Each service lasts approximately an hour and a half and contains songs, scripture readings, prayer, and teaching from a passage in the Bible. Even if you’ve never been in a church service before, you can expect to feel welcome with us—we come from all different walks of life and enjoy the new faces we see every week.
Spanish Service at 12pm
For those who speak Spanish as their primary language, we have a Spanish service at 12noon in Fletcher Lounge.
Childcare & Junior Church
Sunday morning we provide nursery and Sunday school environments for children pre-K and younger. Elementary school students join us in the Sanctuary for singing and prayer, and then are dismissed during the sermon for Jr. Church in the Community Building. Middle and High School students are invited to join in the adult worship service.
