Cornerstone exists because of Jesus. We are a people who have been transformed by the gospel, the good news of Jesus Christ. Through Jesus’ death and resurrection, God has forgiven us and adopted us into his family. Now, we have a whole new life.
Through the gospel, God redeems us, forgives us, and adopts us into his family. The good news of Jesus’ death and resurrection makes each one of us a new creation and gives us a new identity: children of God. This is why we can never think of the church as an organization or a building. The church is actually a family—God’s family, filled with redeemed sinners that are now his children.
Through the gospel, God forgives us, adopts us into his family, and makes us his disciples. This means that the church is not just any family. We are a family formed by God—and sent out with a purpose.
The church is a family that ministers to one another, cares for one another, and builds one another up. Each member of the family is a child of God who is uniquely gifted to bless the family and to be a light in our city.
Just like a vine grows best with a good trellis, our church family grows best with good programs. Our programs and ministries are tailored to support the community and mission God has given us.
"But we your people, the sheep of your pasture, will give thanks to you forever; from generation to generation we will recount your praise." –Psalm 79:13
The heart behind VBS is to have an intense week of fun, adventure, learning, and powerful testimony to the grace and supreme worth of Jesus Christ. Students are broken up by grade level into groups that rotate through different stations where they learn through teaching, fun, active games, singing songs, watching skits, making crafts, and building friendships with other students their age!
VBS is scheduled for early summer every year, usually the last week of June. Please check our events calendar for specific dates.
Due to high demand we have to strictly enforce age limits for VBS. Students must be a minimum of 4 years old by September 1 of the current year and a maximum of entering 6th grade in the upcoming school year.
The theme for VBS changes every year, but our focus on Jesus stays the same. With every new theme, we have a new opportunity to show students the goodness of Jesus and his gospel.
We want VBS to be accessible to everyone, so we've done our best to keep costs low. The $20 fee goes to decorations, games, snacks for our tireless volunteers, and bounce house rentals. Scholarships are available for those who can't afford the $20 fee—just contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
