Mark points us back to the beginning of the universe and tells us that now there is a new beginning, and Jesus has come to make us a part of it.

When Jesus appears, we find that the God we are expecting is also very much a man. God has identified with us, to the point of becoming one of us. And this is only the start of the new beginning God brings! Soon we see all three members of the Trinity together, ready to create like they did in Genesis. But this time they have broken into our world, and Jesus will be our new representative. He will go to the cross for our sins, so that we can be a part of the new beginning God brings.
